F-16s in Tucson

There appears to be 2 F-16s at the Restoration Yard at the Pima Air and Space Museum. I took the first set of pictures on January 24, 2019 and the second set yesterday.  The museum staff say that the Armed Services do ask the museum to pull parts.  Tucson as A LOT of General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcons.  The 162nd Fighter Wing is here.  Foreigners train down here.  My neighbors was a maintainer for this aircraft.  But the mystery thickens for those us who only played with plastic and dye cast metal F-16s.

First flight: January 20, 1974.  Even after 4,604 produced, the 4th generation jet is still in production and used by more than 25 militaries(Bahrain, Belgium, Chile, Denmark, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Republic of China (Taiwan), Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirate and wait for it - Venezuela.)  Italy gave their jets back.  In 1998,  an F-16 cost $14.6 million which seems cheap when you compare it to the billion dollar sixth generation crap.

Serbia’s Museum of Aviation in Belgrade has Lieutenant David Goldfien’s F-16CG. Our erstwhile World War I ally shot down tail Number 88-0550 on May 2, 1999.  A S-125 surface-to-air missile from 3rd Battery of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade of the Yugoslav Air Force shot down the commander of 555th “Triple Nickel” Fighter Squadron.  Don’t worry call sign Hammer 34 ejected safely and is now current commander the United States Air Force.  In recent news, Croatia tried buying 12 F-16’s from #Israel for $ 500 million.  #Trump said no.   Chief of Staff of the Air Force Goldfein, who is #Jewish, has no comment.  #Russia however delivered 4 MiG 29s to #Serbia. May you live in interesting times!
